ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrive YangonMingalabar! Upon arrival, a driver and tour guide of Myanmar Travel will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel in Yangon city center.
Accommodation: Hotel in YangonMeals: Not available Day 2: Yangon – Fly to Bhamo (via Mandalay) – Embark cruise Have breakfast in the hotel then, we leave Yangon early in the morning for the flight to Bhamo.
Upon arrival, our driver will meet you at the airport and take you to embark the Amara River Cruise in the afternoon 3:00 PM. Set sail down to near Sin-Khamand spend overnight on board.
Accommodation: Overnight on cruiseMeals: Breakfast, Dinner Day 3: Sin-Kham – Shwegu -Katha Set sail at 06:00 am. On the way, we will pass the beautiful Second Defile. The river banks become a steep cliff and the river bottom drops away to extreme depths. The river scene is amazing and offers beautiful scenery. After breakfast, visit the pagodas of Shwe Baw Kyunn on the opposite river bank of Shwegu . Dinner and overnight on board the Amara.

Katha is known from the book “Burmese Days” written by George Orwell. Dinner and overnight on board the Amara.

Our journey will continue downstream until Tagaung, one of the oldest capitals of Myanmar. Proceed for sightseeing at Tagaung. Overnight and dinner on board the Amara just south of Tagaung.
Accommodation: Overnight on cruiseMeals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Day 6: Tagaung - Kyaukmyaung Set sail at 06:00 am. We continued until Thabeikkyin. We will pass the Third Defile. This area is covered with dense teak forest. Sail downstream till Nwe Nyein (potery village) and sightseeing around New Nyein. Dinner and overnight on board.
Accommodation: Overnight on cruiseMeals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Day 7: Kyaukmyaung – Mingun Set sail at 06:00 am down stream to Mingun and afternoon sightseeing Mingun Bell, weighing 90 tones and the biggest hanging undamaged bell in the world; Shin Phyume Pagoda, and the unfinished Mingun Pagoda, a colossal brick monument. Dinner and overnight on board the Amara near Mingun.
Accommodation: Overnight on cruiseMeals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Day 8: Mingun - Mandalay Jetty – Fly to Bagan. Set sailing down to Mandalay. Disembark Mandalay Jetty at 08:00 am.
Transfer to the airport for our flight to Bagan - Myanmar’s archeological wonderland, where over 3,000 ancient temples blossom from the countryside. Start your tour with a trip to the bustling Nyang U Market in Old Bagan then explore the beautiful, gold leaf Shwezigon Pagoda and learn about the Burmese Buddhist tradition. We continue our tour with a visit to Ananda Temple, stopping along the way in the Bagan plain to admire some of the surrounding temples. In the afternoon, take a tour of a local lacquer wear workshop and learn about this traditional craft.
Accommodation: Hotel in BaganMeals: BreakfastDay 9: Bagan SightseeingAfter breakfast, we begin with an exotic horse cart ride to one of the biggest temples in Bagan: Nan Paya Pagoda and many other interesting sites nearby. Continue with sightseeing to Minkaba Gubyaukyi Temple; take note of the architectural differences between MyaZedi Pagoda before heading to Manuha Temple. The highlight of today is the panoramic sunset view from the second highest pagoda of Bagan, the ShweSandaw Pagoda.
Accommodation: Hotel in BaganMeals: BreakfastDay 10: Bagan – Mt. Popa – BaganLeaving the Bagan temples behind, we begin the drive to Mt Popa. Join the pilgrims as they ascend Mt Popa and admire the crazy statues that line the walk along with the monkeys that live on the mountain. Once at the peak, guests can relax and bask in the glorious views of Bagan.

On arrival at Sittwe air-port transfer to jetty for private boat trip along the Kaladan River to Mrauk-u about 5 to 7 hours upstream by enjoying river life. Check in at hotel and overnight in Mrauku.
Meals: BreakfastAccommodation: Hotel in Mrauk UDay 14: Mrauk U sightseeingSpend a full day exploring the Mrauk U archaeological zone. Begin at Shittaung Temple, built in the 16th century and famous for its numerous sandstone carvings and Htukkant Thein Temple, depicting all of Mrauk U’s 64 traditional hairstyles. Continue on to the Andaw Sima and Ratanabon Phaya—a massive stupa ringed by 24 smaller stupas. After lunch at the hotel visit a Khami village to see the villagers’ exquisite handmade textiles. Here you may also view the famous Wuttay Buddha, carved from a single block of sandstone.
Meals: BreakfastAccommodation: Hotel in Mrauk UDay 15: Mrauk U / Chin VillagesAfter breakfast take a cruise up the incredibly scenic Lay Myo River to visit a village of the Chin tribe. Here you will meet a number of women with traditional face tattoos that are unique to this ethnic minority group. Learn about the significance of these tattoos as well as the reasons for their declining popularity. Return to Mrauk U in the late afternoon.

Spend the rest of the day exploring Yangon and its highlights from Sule Pagoda, the heart of Yangon city; Chaukhtayi Pagoda. After lunch, discover the most outstanding pagoda in Yangon: Shwedagon Pagoda. The golden pagoda is really a must see while you are in Myanmar. Enjoy your shopping time in Scott Market (close on Monday & holiday).
Your highlight for this evening is the dinner in Karaweik Palace, overlooking to the Royal Lake and Shwedagon Tower. You will be served a fine Burmese dinner followed by an amazing cultural show.
