  1. Day 1: Mandalay – Drive to Pyin Oo Lwin. Sightseeing full day

    In the morning, drive about two hours to the former British hill station of Maymyo, now officially called Pyin Oo Lwin. The town is located on a plateau 1000m above sea level and renowned for its cooler temperatures and lush foliage. The town of Pyin Oo Lwin reflects perfectly the charm of British colonial architecture, housing and gardening style. We visit major attraction of this hill station: Kandawgyi National Garden and Pwe Kauk Water Fall then late afternoon strolling around the town through ancient colonial houses.

  2. Day 2: Pyin Oo Lwin – Train to Hsipaw

    Our driver and guide will take you to railway station. Say goodbye to our driver and guide and board the morning train to Hsipaw through Goteik Viaduct. This train used to be an infamous black–market train transporting goods to and from China. As you travel past pretty hills and scenery, the train will cross the famous 700 meter long Gokteik Viaduct, built in 1900 by the American Pennsylvania Steel Co. The impressive height from the bridge to the bottom of the valley is nearly 300 meters. After crossing the bridge, the train will stop at a small station and you will get the chance to have a better look at the bridge. The train continues to Hsipaw where you will meet our representative and transferred by tuk tuk to your hotel. Check in hotel there and free for the rest of the day.

  3. Day 3: Hsipaw – Shan Villages (6 hour trekking)

    Our guide will pick you up at your hotel at 8.00 AM. You will be driven by tuk tuk along Shan valley for 1 hour up to the first village where you start trekking. The trek takes around 2 hours to lead you Ta Ang-Palaung village. Take a rest and have lunch at local house
    After lunch, continue 2-hour trek along forest, tea plantation and enjoy the panoramic mountainous view above 1400 meters and take a tea break in the next village. After the break, trek down along the tea plantation’s valley and the isolated mountain rice field to return the pick-up point. Meet tuk tuk driver and return the town.

  4. Day 4: Hsipaw – Light trek & boat trip

    This morning, take boat-ride for one hour upstream along the Dothawaddy river. Enjoy the nice scenery with the mountains around, beautiful valleys, and fruit plantations along the River. Next, we will have a 45-minute trekking trip to the 150-year-old Tai (SHAN) Monastery. During the walk, you will see the fruit plantations, pineapple, papaya and oranges farm. After a visit of the monastery, return to your boat and continue to visit Ancient Shan village. Then, head back to Hsipaw for Lunch. After lunch, we will visit the Little Bagan (Ancient Pagoda zone) and back to Hotel.

  5. Day 5: Hsipaw - drive back to Mandalay.

    Our driver will pick you up at hotel and take you back to Mandalay. Trip ends.
